1872 Founded Teachers College at the site of Kanda Shohei School
1888 Established Ordinary Junior High School Department at Teachers College (Establishment of our school)
Specified insignia and cap for boys
1890 Moved to Kanda-Hitotsubashi
Established alumni association
1893 First eight students graduated
1896 Moved into premises of Ochanomizu Teachers College
Renamed as the Ordinary Junior High School at Ochanomizu Teachers College
1897 Renamed alumni association as “Toin-kai”
1910 Moved to new building at Otsuka-Kubomachi, Koishikawa
1928 School flag designed
1929 Built Highland Villa (Now “Toin-Ryo”) in Ashida Village, Nagano Prefecture
1940 Moved to new building at 56 Otsuka-cho, Koishikawa-ku (current location)
1948 New senior high school system started
1949 Renamed Senior High School at Otsuka, Tokyo University of Education
1950 Implemented coeducation from freshman level
1978 Renamed Senior High School at Otsuka, the University of Tsukuba
1988 Celebrated the centenary
1996 Completed construction of junior/ senior high school gymnasium
2003 Installed air-conditioning
2004 Transferred to National University Corporation
2005 Implemented barrier free improvements to school facilities
Installed elevators
2008 Celebrated the 120th anniversary of the foundation
2010 Completed construction of junior/ senior high school swimming pool (9 lanes)
